Argentinians have the problem, they should know their history a bit better and see their own leaders at that time were the well known mass killers of their people.....they just took them into a war to kill even more of them at our hands.....now take this in and move on.....can't stand nations that don't look into what actually went on and go around holding grudges against nations that stick up for their people wherever they can.....better still look into our history and discover we don't take kindly to the threat of invasion.....it is well documented even in Spanish.....

As an ex Green Jacket I can't bear the Irish accent, turns my stomach and an automatic dislike/hatred comes in. Logical, fair? probably not but there you go.
I remember the Falklands well, I tried to sign up in a wave of patriotic duty in the navy but as I was 16 and thought the navy was just being on a boat they said, No.
Fortunately, a couple of years later the Army had no qualms me knowing nothing.
Therefore, I fully understand Tevez's attitude and don't have an issue with in the slightest.

I know a few who have struggled as a result. I suppose it effects everyone differently. I've not knowingly had much of a problem dealing with it however I didn't experience what some of the others did. I think there's more understanding of PTSD now. My mate wasn't diagnosed for years until he went to the States

Good on you Uncle Albert but I know a few who were there too and a couple of them went completely off the rails(I don't think PTSD was even a thing back then) and found it very, very hard to readjust when they got home.

Back then they seemed to just get elbowed out of the army and navy and left to it. By the amount of ex-servicemen you see sleeping rough in London it seems not much has changed.

Speaking as someone who served in the Falklands l'd like to point out we weren't shredded by Exocets, 2 RN ships were hit. One eventually sank. Sir Galahad was hit at Bluff Cove not San Carlos. Argie AF was shredded in San Carlos by Sea wolf and Seadart. Their Navy never came out to play. Don't believe everything you hear in these documentaries Most people don't want much to do with them due to the distortion of facts.

There was a documentary on Channel 4 over the weekend, that's been on before, called Falklands War: The Untold Story. In it, it explains how lucky we were everything went to plan.


Well that was the thing... hardly anything went to plan... and we still pulled it off... losing the Atlantic conveyor... not having to take Goose Green (Thatcher wanting a morale boosting victory rather than any tactical sense... mainly due to our Navy getting shredded by Exocets)... Sir Gallahad a sitting duck in Carlos waters... Rapiers SAM's being a piece of crap and giving fuck all protection from the Argie AF... thank god for the Sea Harriers that's all I can say
